Valerie was one of the original Avengers but was taken hostage by HYDRA after being saved by Tony Stark only a few years prior. Upon her return the group soon discovers she was brainwashed and her memory had been wiped. In hopes to return back to normal her only hope is to confide and trust Bucky Barnes. Previously the Winter Soldier, he was tortured and brainwashed just as she was, she was hopeful to find the solution to her problem. Having already returned back to normal life (sort of), Valerie is desperate for help to remember and free herself of everything HYDRA did to her. Christine Vargas was one vial away from becoming a Flag Smasher until Baron Zemo crushed her chances, only to offer her the world instead...his world. True love comes at a dangerous price, but it's one she's willing to pay if it means another day with the Baron. Flash backs and forwards of love, sex and violence tell this globe spanning story about a woman smitten with the villain whose good heart is no match for her tenacity. They'll fix the world together or die trying. UPDATED 08/02/2021 Okay, so... I love this story, I really do. I love it because I wrote it at the height of my absolute obsession with Zemo and the beginning of my love for Daniel Bruhl (although to be fair I'd already realized he was talented and amazing I just didn't know that I was in love with him yet lol) I feel like that passion shows through in ways I might never be able to replicate, but it also hindered my story telling. My problem is that I get so incredibly excited that the ideas spilled out faster than I could put them into any sort of logical order, I mean it wasn't straight trash but it wasn't quite right. I mean chapter one was going to be a one shot for fs sake! This! This multi-chapter time spanning story. I was delusional at best lol. So, I stepped away wrote a couple of others that were ton of fun, but leaving this one sort of "unfinished" has always haunted me. It's like I knew the story was there, I just needed to take enough time away to be able to come back and find it. Anyway, I'm not saying it's perfect, but it makes my heart so very happy. Oh and yes the title is the name of the song our beloved Baron got down to at the club. Hope you enjoy! Please know that writers need the feedback of readers to grow!
