The pursuit for the Golden Crown continues but being the strongest academy representative is no longer enough. The victorious suitor must also convince the Golden Heir that they are everything the royals could desire in a bride before she can claim the title of Heliac's queen and guardian.
Yet, Willow's purpose remains indifferent. But trying to balance life as a masked suitor while striving to achieve complete control of her powers is a lot more complicated than she anticipated.
The more control she gains over her powers, the more control she loses of her emotions, and her feelings for Caiden are becoming harder to deny with each day she remains part of the competition.
New secrets emerge, forcing Willow to choose between her heart and her goal if she wants to survive what destiny has in store for her. But completing what she set out to do is challenging when a mind corrupted by wicked thoughts is doing everything they can to prevent Willow from seeing the Crown Trials through.

As long as people believed that there was a division between the Gifted and the non-Gifted, that one was superior to the other, I wasn't done. As long as there were kings on thrones to reinforce the idea that people like Porter and Briar and everyone else I cared about were unworthy of this world, I wasn't done. "And then," I continued, a resolution forming in my mind. "I'm going to destroy those six thrones." ********************************************** Wren Heatherfield has been through hell and back, surviving the deadly trials of the Garner and claiming the title of Garner Champion. However, her fight is far from over, with the real challenges only just beginning. Adjusting to her new life in the Ember Court with her insufferable enemy-turned-friend Kesserian Cinis, Wren is forced to face the truth of how close the six courts of Naturian are to a civil war, with Nox and Wren leading the opposing sides. But the fight for allies she can trust might turn out to be just as hard as her internal fight: coming to terms with her true identity. With the loyalties and beliefs of her past and present self at war with each other, Wren must decide who she is and what she stands for if she has any hope of surviving this upcoming war. Plagued by nightmares and trauma from her time in the Garner, Wren must find a way to keep moving forward. With the weight of a crumbling nation on her shoulders, Wren has one chance to fix the injustices that plague Naturian and achieve her dreams of toppling tyranny, but the alluring power of the throne might prove too intoxicating for even her to resist. A fight for her loved ones. A fight for the oppressed. A fight to save the remaining good in Naturian. The chains have been released. Now the real fight begins.

All her life, Seraphina has been hidden away in the enchanted forest with her guardian, Calla. The result of a secret relationship between the daughter of one of the most influential families in the country, and a mysterious and extremely powerful Ethereal, it is imperative that Seraphina's identity remain a secret - at least until she is powerful enough to protect herself against the many enemies of her parents. So, when a tutor from the prestigious Amber Cove Academy appears, Seraphina disguises herself as a Stain; a member of the slave race controlled by magically gifted Ethereals. Thanks to years of Stain and Ethereal relations, it isn't uncommon for Stains to have powers of their own. Because of this, every year, tutors from Amber Cove travel the country in search of champions to attend the academy. This year, Seraphina is one of the champions. Soon, Seraphina finds herself in the competitive world of the Academy, where no one is truly your friend and image and reputation are everything. Seraphina has to learn quickly how to fit in, her survival in the Ethereal world depends on it. Of course, that is easier said than done when Ethereals refuse to treat the Stain champions with any respect. School bullies are the least of Seraphina's problems, however. The longer she stays at the Academy, the longer strange things start to happen. Whispers in the walls, strange visions, and students getting injured can only be the cause of a darkness that plagues the halls of the Academy which is somehow linked to Seraphina. To make matters worse the gods that watch over them are more active than ever and their cruelty knows no bounds. Seraphina finds herself thrust into the middle of wars between strange and ancient entities. Secrets are unravelled, and the more Seraphina learns about her world and herself, the more the gods' eyes fall on her. Book One in the Amber Cove Academy Series. Updates on Saturdays
