In a land where humans live peacefully with witches, vampires and dragon keepers, Heidi Barker cannot find her place. Sorted into a human school and her father dead, she can barely catch up with the stress of helping her mother take care of the family witch shop. Until one day, she realises her mother made a mistake. A mistake that kept her destiny a secret.

With the help of the spirits of her ancestors, she learns to harness the powers of those hunted years ago. And thanks to her father for trying to figure things out, she has many leads, however cryptic they are. However, the Vampires, also known as the authorities, are not going to let the last Fire Dragon Keeper wander the streets freely, especially when they were all meant to have been 'extinct'. Or rather, in truer words, hunted.

Maybe she's more special then she thinks. And maybe, just maybe, the hunters made a mistake.
