The Dark Side Of My World

As I am walking through the ashes of the burning bodies I have created, I smell the burning sensation in the air. Everywhere is just darkness. Full of chaos and screams. When did this happen? Why did this happen? Could we not stop it before it was too late? None of the questions mattered anymore. I take a look at the black ring i have in my hand. Tears trying to escape my eyes. Trying to find their freedom, i couldn't give them. I can feel the heat of the fires around me, threatening to burn me also. I stop staring at the ring in my hand and wear it, hurting me deeply with the memories it has.

'' I am sorry.'' I mutter, can't even hear my own voice. It was hoarse and almost gone because of all the screaming. ''I will make sure you are resting in peace now.'' I look at the ring one last time as i say these words. I see the C&... carved inside the ring. The second initial too damaged to even see. ''I will make things right.''

I look up towards the burning buildings, not able to keep the tears anymore as they just start falling. I remember the peaceful days I had in the past looking at the building. ''What could I have done different to prevent all these?'' is the question I ask myself as I walk into the building to face it one last time, alone.
