charlotte zhao had never really given much thought to performing. besides a quick solo or two in the shower, singing wasn't something that plagued her mind. until rachel berry heard her singing at her job, and practically dragged her into the choir room.
it was there that she officially met finn hudson. she had heard of him, even had him in a few classes over the years, but she had never noticed him until now.
unfortunately for charlotte, finn had a girlfriend, and maybe even more unfortunately, she had a boyfriend. she didn't plan on falling for the adorably naive quarterback, but you never can plan on these things. she was stuck between a rock and a hard place, but unlike that guy from the book, she wouldn't be sawing off her arm just yet.
"You're different from what I expected," she said softly.
"How so?" he asked, glancing at her.
"I don't know," she replied, searching for the right words. "You just... have this way of making people feel like they matter. Even here, in this... nightmare."
He was quiet for a moment before responding. "You matter, Y/n. Don't forget that."
OR
Y/n wakes up in the deadly Squid Game, surrounded by strangers and fighting to survive. What she doesn't know is that the mysterious Frontman is watching her every move through the cameras- and she's caught his attention.
