I gazed at the waters as my fingers absently weave themselves through the sand, under the night sky.
From the corner of my eye, I could see her head tilted up, watching the stars with a fascination I've only seen on her face in the past.

We were draped in comfortable silence, save for the comforting sound of the ocea the waters sloshed against themselves in rhythmic movements. My legs were drawn up against my chest, as hers and my feet knead leisurely in the cool sand.
All of the tension from our outbursts and confessions seemed to have glided away. This is the most at ease I've felt since I started relating with my daughter.
