"What if you can't change the future?"

Takemichi could only stare in shock at the girl who discovered his secret, and her question. Her eyes were cold and sharp, like knives digging through his skin.

She continued to speak; "There's a theory about time travel." She looked at him with an electrifying gaze. "There are events that no matter what you do are just fated to happen."

Takemichi swallowed his apprehension and answered firmly. "I won't know until I try. Even if I fail, I'll just keep trying until I succeed."

Takemichi stared wide eyed and bewildered at the image infront of him. His face looked back at him, not his reflection in a mirror. It was a living, breathing person that had exactly the same features, only much older.

"Who are you?"

"I'm you.

From a different time."

Takemichi swallowed all the other queries but one question lingered like affection. "What do you want from me?"

"Change the future."

"I can't." Because he couldn't bring the dead back to life.
