Not Just Another Tribute

I hear the rustling of the bush's green leaves behind me and draw my bow as I quietly turn around. I aim at the squirrel and momentarily hesitate, but then I let the arrow fly. As I watch the airborne weapon, I try not to think about watching my sister fight for her life. In a sense hunting has always been a fight for survival. For us, the enemy or "bad guy" was hunger and starvation, not people. Just one more thing I can add to my mental list of why I hate the Capitol. Right under how they ruined the forest for my sister. The forest was always her sanctuary. Our sanctuary. But, that's gone now. Why? Because she and 23 other kids were forced into an arena to fight for their lives. This is the story of how we ended the Games. For good. And it's probably not how you expect us to do it.
