Snippets of alternate outcomes in the lives and enduring love story of Can Divit and Sanem Aydin. When I started out with this story, I only intended to loosely base the 'short piece' on the events in Bolum (Episodes) 17 & 18 however, I got such positive feedback, I decided to stretch it out a bit. I'm still unsure how far I will stretch it but so far, I'm enjoying writing it and will keep going till I run out of steam. I can't think of any show/movie that I've watched in recent times to which I have reacted as I did when I watched Erkenci Kuş. The characters hooked their claws into me and wouldn't let go. I rooted for Sanem and Can; cried and laughed with them; railed at and cursed their detractors and finally rejoiced over their reunion. However, the ending was so rushed. After all the angst we were put through with their relationship, I felt robbed of an extended happily-ever-after. What we were given was too short. I hope to right that wrong, amongst others, with this story. Though I only watched the show in Jan/Feb 2023, I have since rewatched it countless times. There were certain parts of the plot which wound me up so much so this is me writing what I wished had happened. Enjoy!

There once was a man named Izuna, and he was the keeper of the lighthouse of a small, remote island you could only reach by ferry. Every evening, Izuna would go to his lighthouse to check up on it, as if Izuna were and old friend. One day, when Izuna stood by said old friend, he sees the ferry arrive, as it does every third day. On it is a very ill man who has had to flee the wars of his home country, a doctor of the name Tobirama. And Izuna is the only person on the island who has a heart good enough to help a foreigner... Between the two men is an instant connection, but also the distance that comes with fear, trauma, and the longing of a brother who might have died in war. Can a broken Tobirama open his heart to the sweet Izuna? And might there be someone waiting for Izuna's brother, Madara, as well?

"Sorry, that was unintentional and I did not know that you are that weak." He smirked at her. "I am not weak.. That..." she saw him taking a step towards her. She gulped and then continued. ".. is a..." Another step. ".. normal.." One more step closer. ".. reaction." Another step. By now, he was again within her personal space. "I think we should go and see if Natey is done with her books." She whispered and laughed nervously and turned back only to be hold and pulled back to a hard chest. He had purposely swirled her along with him, changing their position. His front was dangerously touching her back. "It's a weak who always run away showing back." He whispered in her ears, his breaths touching her neck.
