You know when you think about protecting someone when they get hurt? And in your imagination they don't because the thing trying to hurt them just doesn't hurt them? Or maybe you dream at night about creating a distraction just so you can run away. Or, maybe you don't know because it's something you don't think about. Well, I'm here to tell you that it happens in your everyday world, you just don't know it.

Seventeen year old Piper Pierce is the girl who always gets into trouble. Whether it's causing fights, destroying school property, stealing, even putting graffiti on the bathroom stalls. But when she gets caught for stealing and hot-wiring an expensive car, she has no choice but to be sent off to Olvidar Institute, a place where kids enter with problems and leave a soldier. Even after knowing what the institute does, she fights it and stays normal just to escape.
