After working with S.P.R for almost year, Naru a.k.a Oliver Davis leaves Japan to head home to England. Just before he left, Mai confesses her feelings for the narcissist. However, he tosses them back in her face with a question, "Me or Gene?". Two and half years later, he returns on the day of Mai's graduation to find she's been adopted by the newly married monk and priestess.
After reuniting with his former colleagues, he pulls Mai aside, gets the answer to his question and confesses his own feelings. Masako is jealous, which could cause problems during a new case.
Romance and new cases abound.
