Book 8 of the To Be A Runner Series
A dying leader, a runaway madman, skeptical locals, and a piece of the book that could contain the secrets to everything...
Yep, that seems about right.
It's been only five days since Jones injected Janine with the nanites, but with her time being so short, every second counts. Now we find ourselves on in the Far Hebridies, having to gain the trust of those here in order to get their help in catching Jones and healing Janine.
But there's more to Mor Island, and the islands around it, than we know. Odd labs, cryptic cave messages, skinscoats, a red god? All of it is bizarre and wrong and we must weave our way through the mystery if we hope to save Janine and get back the missing piece of the Edda of the Wakened Warriors. If we don't, we will be overcome with the V-Types once again, and the world as we know it will end.
That's why I have to rise up and continue to fight, even as new friends and enemies arise, even the things I thought were stable in my life slowly starts to crumble, leaving gaps for uncertainty or doubt. No, I cannot fall now. I have to keep going because that's what I do.
I have to rise up with my team, for my friends. It's time to win this, and be a Champion.
Disclaimer: I do not own Zombies, Run! Or any of its characters. I only own the characters I myself created. This is my Five's perspective of season 8 and what happened in between missions.

The world went to shit 8 months ago.
I haven't had a proper shit since then. Hi, I'm Unity. And I have had it with this zombie fucking apocalypse I just want to put a bullet in my skull. Unfortunately, (or fortunately, whichever you prefer) I don't have a gun with me.
Fucking scientists and their fucking experiments, they just won't let the Earth breathe for a second, can they?!?! Fucking assholes.
Now the world has gone to shit, and it would've been okay to just wait this apocalypse out if it weren't for my food and water supply depleting.
*crack*
Oh shit. Well, I got to run. The zombies are about to break into this convenience store I'm currently staying in.
"FWEET!"
My dog came barrelling towards me at the sound of my quiet whistle, a bag of treats in her mouth as I looked at her helplessly.
"Really?" I sighed. I grabbed my bag and put the treats in and swung my baseball bat as if to test the strength I should exude to bash their heads in.
Oh. Did I say I'm going to run away from them? My bad. I meant to say I'm gonna run through them.
Hi, I'm Unity Cherish Joy Alcock.
And I'm anything but.
