"You weren't meant to live a life of morals and virtue, Raven. You weren't born to prance around a palace and bow to a good for nothing King. You were made for something greater. You were born to play the part no one would choose for themselves. You were made to be their destruction. You were made to be their villain."
Raven Hawthorne is an assassin part of the elite rebel group, The Rouge, which aims to take down the corrupted King and his heir, The Prince Julius Black.
When a group of The Rouge's spies are taken by The Prince and his cadre in an attempt to eliminate the rebel groups, Raven and four other assassins must compete in the annual Royal Army Initiation to become soldiers of the Palace and free the captured spies. The plan is simple, but as twisted Palace secrets are revealed and the ties between love and duty grow blurry, nothing can ever be certain.
