Viviana grew up poor. Her mother was a maid in the Lombardi family home for years, but her life was relatively good because she had a very loving mother who worked hard to give her a better life and the Lombardi family treated them fairly.
When her mother and the boss Emiliano Lombardi die in a car crash, Viviana's life is turned upside down and left with many unanswered questions.
When Mr. Lombardi's last will reveals that she is an heir to half his fortune, it causes his only son Emilio to become furious and demand an explanation as to why the maids daughter is entitled to a portion of the Lombardi fortune.
Viviana is just as confused. After Emilio makes it clear that Viviana does not deserve the inheritance, she chooses to give it up on one condition.
She leaves the Lombardi mansion and the last letter Emiliano Lombardi left behind with the intention of never looking back again, but seven years later destiny brings her back home where she has to face the demons of the past.
