Karito are licensed, elite members of humanity who are capable of tracking down Dark Spirits, spirits that are full of rage, darkness, and corruption. Karito can gain access artifacts and locations that regulars will not be able to access. To obtain a Karito License, one must pass the annual Karito Exam, ran by the Karito Association. The exam is rather difficult, the stats being one in a million to pass.
Wanting to become a Karito, Haruto Takahashi leaves his sleepy and peaceful village of Mizu, embarking on a journey to pass the Karito Exam. He faces multiple obstacles in his path, not only Dark Spirits and the multiple phases of the Karito Exam, but the temptation of greed, lust, and corruption. Will he be able to fend off human greed, or will he fall victim to it just like millions had before?
