A young marine researcher is drawn back to shore upon noticing the Washington coast, usually illuminated with thousands of city lights now lies in a blanket of darkness. But his search to find the source of the power outage reveals that a lot happened before the lights went out: cities collapsed, war broke out, and humanity took its final stand. Now, Emmett is forced to confront what's left and try to pick up the pieces of the world he left only a few months prior.
But humanity doesn't give up that easily. Will a small group of survivors be enough to save the human race?
