In the not-so-distant future Rarakians make first contact and strike a deal with the humans: they need a fertile, adaptable species to help them colonize the new jungle planet Yurn. In exchange, they will become Earth's guard dog, protecting them from the many other species whose actions and intentions wouldn't be quite as friendly. A few brave souls sign up to see the stars and become pioneers, meeting their potential spouses only after they've left Earth. Will they be able to get along? And is Yurn far enough from Earth to protect the couples from anti-Rarakian groups that demand the human race remain pure? -- Rarakians have the body shape of a strong human, the personality and ears of a dog, the tail, teeth, and claws of a lion, horn-like antlers, and three big, big hearts that demand they protect anything smaller than them. -- Cover picture found on a public domain search linked to NASA

Book One in the Stag Belt Series Survival demands submission. Instinct demands more. Revina thought landing her first field mission days after graduation was a dream come true-until she learned the catch. She's been sent to the untamed planet of Veythra, a place of dangerous nomadic clans and uncharted lands. The reason she was chosen? Rhyos. Her best friend. Her protector. A half-human, half-Veythrian hybrid who has never set foot on his father's homeland. But the moment they land, everything changes. It's the sacred breeding season. The clans are restless. The males are on edge. And Rhyos-the one person she's always trusted-is changing. His instincts are awakening, his control slipping. Worse, the price of protection among the clans is her participation in their sacred rite. His claim is the only thing standing between her and the others. Because the warriors see her as a prize. A foreign beauty. A fertile offering. And if Rhyos doesn't stake his claim? They will.
