Iris (agent 8) and Remi (Agent 3) have finally made it to the surface after the deepsea metro. Iris, with nowhere to stay, moves in with Remi. All is well at first, until Remi starts having nightmares about being sanitized, and Iris starts remembering her past in the octarian army. 

One thing leads to another and suddenly Remi, Iris, agent 4, and he newly recruited agent 7 must work together to save inkopolis, and themselves.

This series of events in this book is (technically was because it is being re-written) canonical to the 38 Saga. However, this follows a different story, so you do not need to read it to understand these books. Her hair color is white and changes color depending on what she wants and almost always changes her hair style. She also changes eye color constantly. So sometimes no one even recognizes her. She heard of rumors of the old subway station and she's seen another inkling who's told her that he's an agent...agent 4, near what seems to be a sewer? What happens when she wanders into both paths and ends up in deeper ink than she intended to? Read the book to find out duh.... XD
