That's what happens to Deborah, an 18 year-old college student that isn't quite satisfied with her life. Even though it's not bad at all, she discovers 'shifting', and is able to create another reality in her mind where she would go every night while asleep.
There she falls for 'him', a guy who is coldhearted that'll show her a new perspective, and to accept herself and her true surroundings, but Deborah isn't willing to renounce to be in both places, which complicates her relationships in both realities.
