That starts to change when he meets and befriends a priest named Alastor, who reminds him that every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future. No one else sees Angel the way Alastor sees him. He's never had anyone believe that he's capable of goodness and virtue. Still, he finds the experience so surprisingly comforting he can't seem to walk away from it. But developing feelings for a man who's sworn off romance in service to God would put Angel in a very complicated position. Especially if those feelings are reciprocated.

I had to get out of town and start new. I packed my things and went to Louisiana; my family wouldn't find me there. I found a job that helped me lay low and made a few friends.
