Anwen Kahananui (19) grew up on Maui, an island in Hawaii. Shortly after turning 12, her mother passed away due to Brain Cancer. Her father, deciding he was incapable of taking care of a child on his own, sends her away to live with her mother's childhood friend, Violet Reid.
Violet and Samantha Reid live in Charlotte, North Carolina with their only child, Brooks Reid (19). Brooks, having only his two moms his entire life, didn't mind sharing a house with someone new. And it only took days for the two children to consider one another their best friend.
For the next 7 years, the two were inseparable, and College was not going to stop that. Both were excepted into NYU. Anwen was attending for performing arts, while Brooks was attending to become a High School English teacher.
After a few months of being in New York, Anwen meets the handsome William Delcour (21), who is also attending NYU to become a Lawyer.
Slowly, their friendship began to blossom, and maybe, even more.

All Brooklyn's life, she's been more of a boy than a girl. She's only ever lived with her single dad and her three older brothers, which means she was bound to grow up more like them.
So, when she moved all the way from New York to Tennessee, it wasn't much of a surprise until she met Alex, the one of many popular boys at the high school. Until she realized that Alex decided to make her life a living hell.
Well, that's what Brooklyn thought, at least...

"He leaned in and put a hand behind my head to kiss me, leaving me frozen and speechless. Almost instinctively, after a moment of processing, I stood on my tippy toes and replaced my fingers in his hair, my other hand on his neck.
Butterflies exploded in my stomach, replacing my hunger for food, as he pressed me against a vacant wall. Without a word, he lifted me up while my legs wrapped around his waist, leaning in closer to him, even after there was no more space to fill."
