My eyes were clenched together tightly hoping that the pressure behind them would disappear, as if that would get rid of my problems. Speaking of problems; my grandma is following me on Twitter, I dropped my cupcake this morning, I lost my keys-twice, my car broke down, my friends have abandoned me, the corpse that I now call my body feels as though it was hit by a train, my hair is a wild mess, I haven't eaten properly in days, and sweet starts to pool through my shirt. Beside me, the love of my life is handcuffed, whispering words of reassurance. Blindfolds over our eyes blocking out the horrors that we can only imagine. I grind my teeth as the far too familiar feeling of a cold metal gun presses to the back of my neck.

The world is screwed up place. Everyone in it just wants peace when it isn't promised to nobody. We work for ourselves to try to improve our ways of life only for someone who has more to take it. Reaching my hand into the drawer, I felt around until my hand came into contact with the metal hilt. My fingers curled around the handle instinctively. I gripped the handle so hard it hurt. I could feel the tendons in my wrist snap as my knuckles turned white. I couldn't let him do that to her again. I just couldn't. I had to protect her. I couldn't just stand there still and do nothing forever. I had to act. I winced at the slight sound of the blade dragging against the wooden bottom of the drawer. I have felt that way all of my life; but then again I felt as if I went missing nobody would even notice or care I was gone. I am 23 and just graduated from college.
