They said, "All teenagers scare the living shit out of me." So, we started a band in my garage.

It's the year 1995 in the small town of Lincoln, Arizona, as four bandmates prepare for the annual Battle of the Bands. Ashton is looking for any way to break it to her parents that college isn't her thing, and that all she wants is to find herself after years of being controlled by them. When she sits front row at Battle of the Bands, everything changes. For whatever it's worth, I think she began to find herself that day.

"I know that when you make up your mind it's difficult to change it, but maybe if I-" His rambling brought me to tears. He was trying. For the first time in his life, Harry Styles was trying.

"Harry, don't." I cut him off, knowing how charismatic he can be. He doesn't understand the effect he has on me.

Harry remains silent for a moment, staring down at the colorful tile below us. I had never seen Harry Styles cry, but the empath in me could feel all of his pain at this moment. In a slow movement, he reaches into his back pocket and pulls out a clear cassette tape. "I made you this."

My brows furrow in confusion. "You made me a mixtape?"

He smiles gently, still finding it hard to look me in the eyes. "I've never been able to communicate well. But through music, I can say everything I wished I had said before. Just listen to it, please."

I listened to it. Every single word of it.
