Tyra

If your grandmother was the founder of S.H.I.E.L.D. and you are raised by an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, you have no other choice but to become one.

In the prologue:
We pick up the story of Tyra Carter in 2003, right before graduating as the member of the First Class of the newly founded S.H.I.E.L.D. Academy. The 18 year old girl and her classmates are going on their first ever field mission, accompanying experienced, older agents to Algeria, North Africa. Although everybody thought the long-lasting Civil War has finally come to an end, the entire team is taken captive by a radical group of terrorist, who are against the end of the war and American interference.

The main story:
After 7 years , Tyra, who was pronounced dead along with everyone else, finally comes back to the United States as the sole survivor, to seek up Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and get answers from him.

Throughout the story we gradually get to know what happened to our protagonist in Algeria (and other places...), figure out who she really is and link up with the events of Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and The Avengers.
