As an aspiring writer, it's difficult not to look at stories you love and wonder 'What if?' I have notice how the Joker's origin in The Killing Joke and the Joker movie (2019) both stories take place during the 1980s. But what if it took place today? That's what I try to answer! In this original work I explore how a complex character like the Joker could emerge and be influence by current social problems. It's a romantic, and specially mysterious short story that I wish one day could help me make it to DC as a comic book writer, and if I don't, at least I enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it! 

Disclaimer: This story is an original idea, of course I reference moments from DC comics and I borrow their characters to tell the story (After all, It's a fan fiction), but each character belongs to the respective owners.Tous Droits Réservés

What would happen if the Joker turned a four year old girl into a loyal and merciless killer? Joker meets a little girl on the street and she asks if he will be her daddy. He quickly dreams up a scheme to cause chaos with the little ragamuffin. However, despite his attempts to make the girl the perfect murderer, she is too sweet and giggly to focus on anything he tells her and ends up sidetracking him and making him laugh. He finds that he is using the plot as an excuse to have the girl around. But what happens when his girl is threatened by other villains? Will he defend her? Or what if she fails in his evil plot? How will Batman react to Joker's plan? *****TW: Attempted sexual assault of a minor in chapter 1-does not get very far but description can be jarring, so stay safe******* This story is rated PG-13, at least by me, for cursing, violence, and other mature themes and ideas. Meet Khalida (Muslim origin meaning Immoral, Deathless, Everlasting, Eternal) is just a girl with a very unique phobia called Haphephobia (fear of touch) and she has the strangest cure for that particular phobia.... she kills those that even try to touch her.... there are only 3 people in the world she's ever allowed to even come close to her in a physical manner without the "need" to harm them a friend she made when she was 10 years old Lex Luther.... her best friend since childhood Jonny Frost.... or as she calls him "Frosty" who actually had the tendency to HELP her kill those who tried to touch her all she had to do was say "hey Frosty!.... do you wanna build a snowman?!" and he went and harmed whoever she wanted harmed.... it didn't matter the reason but in his mind he was SAVING her.... and then there was the Joker.... a man she met BECAUSE of Jonny.... a man she wanted to touch her in ways only ONE other man has EVER touched.... and loved her.... she wanted the Joker to LOVE her in a way she has only been loved once before in her life and love her he did.... from the moment he saw her he loved her and her dangerous nature.... but to his surprise he didn't want her killing any more... he wanted to kill FOR her.... to PROTECT her from what her phobia made her become.... the Joker was jealous of her friendship with Frost and Lex to help him overcome that jealousy Khalida came up with an idea to give him a "pet/toy" to play with she even chose who the woman was and that was the true reason Harley Quinn was born

This is a realism-based story that takes place in modern 21st century Gotham City, a fictional city in an unnamed state along the eastern seaboard in what is assumed to be the United States. There are no meta-humans, or any other beings with any kind of super-powers, and all of the Bat's gizmos are based off of existing 2010 to 2020 technology. Bruce Wayne is a 27 year old man who struggles with being a CEO and a masked vigilante, Penguin is a typical, yet eccentric crime boss, Harleen Quinzel is having trouble dealing with what she was, compared to what the Joker turned her in to, and as for the Joker himself? He is, for lack of a better term: Bat-Shit crazy. This is my personal view of what might happen if a masked and armored vigilante began a crusade to clean up crime in a city the size of Boston or Manhattan. I tried to make the characters as real as possible, although I took a little poetic license and made the GCPD consider the Bat more of a nuisance rather than a wanted criminal, which while realistic would have created an entirely different story.
