Bernie never had a problem connecting with her fellow humans. She just never felt the need to since all she needed was her best friend, Alaska. Yes, Alaska was her white Siberian Husky. Yes, she talks to her as if she can hold a conversation. And yes, Alaska can be a bit of a handful. But she wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. But when a strange dog wanders into her house, she is surprised at the connection she feels for its owner, Tanner. Now, the more she gets close to Tanner, the more she falls for him. Even their dogs are experiencing dog-love. However, there's something about Tanner she can't seem to put her finger on. He's hiding something and Bernie won't let it be until she finds out the truth. Even though it could mean the end of what they have, including separating their two dogs.

How do you tell your best friend you love them? How do you know they feel the same? How do you stop your heart getting broken in the process? Honestly, in a place, you feel comfortable with the other and just take the risk. You don't unless they are an open book of emotions. Hearts are made to be broken; if it's not by them someone else will break it somehow. This is a situation for two pairs of best friends separated by the decades... In 1950 Corinne goes on a month long trip with her family to the Madison businesses, taking an aching heart with her. Add a slightly secretive father, fainting mother, three brothers with two of them looking to take over the business and a serving girl Elsie, you get a relatively normal posh family. Corinne's childhood friend Callum carries an aching heart while she is away and misses her presence. Him, Corinne and a few others have been clueless about how they have always felt for each other, the others knowing all along. So when the others give him an opportunity, Callum tells Corinne how he feels after a card game threat and a surprise night visit from Corinne. In 2015 being in a military family is hard, which is what Dae and Dustin know first hand. The pair of them have a ridiculous amount of connections, few being known like how Dae's mother served with Dustin's father throughout deployments. Dae had always pushed Dustin away when he wanted to get closer. On the run up to Valentine's day Dustin has a grand plan in which he hopes Dae manages to see how he feels. Presents appear in her locker, her dad gets back from deployment with a companion she was certain was not breathing and then a gift bag which Smoke doesn't react to which makes her suspicious. With your mum being trained as a bomb dog handler that's natural right? Even her dad is in on the plan. Will Dustin leave with the heart he's always wanted or will he get turned away again? Find the answers to these questions in this story!

"Are you stalking me?" His deep voice asked. "You wish, that would mean I actually thought about you enough to wonder where you are." I looked away smugly. Max moved closer to me until his face was right in front of mine. "You're saying you don't think about me?" He smirked, fully knowing what the proximity was doing to me. "I don't, why? Did you want me to?" I Regained my composure as I moved even closer, our lips nearly touching. ~~~ Alexa is a normal girl who just wanted to get through school without any trouble. "What are we doing Alex?" He breathes against my lips. That's too sensible of a question, so I ignore it. My brain has yet to return to my body, and right now that is the last thing I'm worried about. "Stay." I whisper against his mouth, my words flowing without any thought. "Stay?" He sits up fully, which results in me straddling him. His expression is full of curiosity and mild shock. "Like stay stay?" I don't respond with words. I'm afraid if I open my mouth, I'll start to overthink and I can't afford that. Instead, I pull my shirt over my head. I do it confidently, in spite of my boldness starting to dissipate as the seconds pass. Ryan swallows. His eyes trail down to my breasts, before he looks at me again with a look I can't name. "Are you sure?" He stares into me. "Promise me you're sure." "I'm sure." I tell him softly. "I promise." ******* ALEXANDRA MONET is a twenty two year old girl, freshly out of college. After landing her dream job working for top fashion designer Adrienne Walker, she moves from a small town in Florida, to the boisterous city of New York. Since before she moved, Alex mapped out a clear plan for the direction of her life. None of which could prepare her for RYAN RUSSO...the snarky, sarcastic boy who she'll soon find herself thinking about constantly. As much as the two think they can't stand each other, there's an underlying attraction that eventually grows too strong for either them to bare. So they make an agreement... An agreement that is supposed to be void of any and all feelings, but over time it becomes a lot harder than expected. It's supposed to mean nothing. Less than nothing, but unfortunately some things just don't go as planned. Warning: Mature scenes and language.

"The things you do for friends." He laughed softly... "Yeah. For friends," I whispered. "Is that what we are then?".... "Is that what you want?" he asked after several moments of just staring at each other. I gripped the door frame behind me as I felt my knees weaken. I was sure by his smirk that the movement didn't go unnoticed. I swallowed nervously. I didn't know what to say. Just a week ago I told him we were nothing. A few days before that I was ready to tell him off and possibly even smack him if I ever got the chance to see him again. Sure, he was one of my oldest friends and my first (and only) love, but he was also my first heartbreak. Could I go back to being friends with the same guy who insinuated to the world that I was a cheater? And why did "just friends" feel like not enough in this moment? *** ** * When McKenzie went out with her best friends one night, she never dreamed she would run into her ex, famous country singer Beau Anderson, and she never dreamed that she would allow him to come back into her life. Beau is determined to tear down the walls she's built since their ugly and very public split. But what will he find in the rubble? Will they be just friends ...something more...or nothing at all....? Can they reconcile their past in time to save their future? *** ** * WARNING: mature content! There is inappropriate language and some mature scenes.
