Felix Swift is a teenager with a big problem; He just can't stay awake. And falling asleep at the wrong moment has already caused him more trouble in the past year than most people will ever experience. Relocating to the countryside with his family brings with it a whole new set of problems. Missing persons, freak storms, crop circles, all-night raves, the local gang, not to mention the challenge of baby-sitting his annoying little brother. His time in the 'arse-end of nowhere' is proving to be every bit as wild as his years growing up in South London. But as Felix soon discovers, village life also holds the keys and the clues to the adventure of a lifetime, and an opportunity to nurture the seeds of friendships that will last forever. ***************************************************************************** Dear Readers, If you are enjoying The Brightlings, please don't forget to vote for each chapter, and feel free to comment (provided you don't post spoilers). Receiving the tiny little stars and additional interaction really spurs me on, and certainly helps to point more people towards my story. I'd love to hear from you, if you like what you are reading, but I'm afraid that I can't promise an instant reply as I'm pretty flat out these days. Finally, it really shouldn't need to be written here, but just a quick note with regards to intellectual copyright and my use of this platform to write/publish The Brightlings; All rights reserved. 16-year-old Ryan is probably the only orphan in all of England whose parents are still alive. At least, that's what his visions are telling him. When Ryan finds out about a school that no one's ever heard of, he knows that school is somehow the key to finding his parents. But when he finally makes it through the wolf forest to get there, nothing goes as planned. Because there is a reason Ryan grew up separated from his family and the life he should've known. And a reason why it might've been for the best if he'd never found his way back home again. There is already someone expecting his arrival, someones who's ready to risk it all for revenge, and when Ryan wakes up ater being attacked, he's not entirely himself anymore. And whatever has become of him, it's clear that he's now a threat to everyone around him. Turns out Ryans parents are the leaders of a pack of werewolves, deadset on keeping the school and their whole society hidden from humans, and protected from vampires. In this new world, where everyone has a different motive to want him gone, Ryan has to fight for his right to stay with the werewolves and stay in control of his own self, otherwise he'll never see his parents again, and he might just be what causes the destruction of the whole werewolf pack for good. ***** I would say this story is fine for ages 14 and up. This story is finished, but in Swedish ;) It's around 110k words and I have now finished translating it into English! I have currently uploaded more than half of the book (I'd say the midpoint is around chapter 44), and the whole thing will be uploaded probably before August. This story takes place in northern England, and I am obviously not English! So if you are from England, and have some feedback for me regarding use of words and such, please let me know, I greatly appreciate it.
