Alexander Vilas and Selene Ceres were set up to marry when she was all but five years old and he was nine. Neither of the two knows of this betrothal, as their parents had not told them. They did not even know of the existence of each other, not until Selene was about to turn sixteen, which was in a couple of days.

Now Selene's life was upside-down. Suddenly there was this whole new life waiting for her. She was to marry a guy she did not know, who'd she had never even met. A guy that, apparently, was four years older than her.
