Falina Gatti was born Blessed. Not by a priest or anyone like that, but by the Egyptian deity, Bastet. And because she is Blessed, she has access to a few supernatural abilities. However, being Blessed isn't all it's cracked up to be. Like all the Blessed that came before her, Falina must find a partner and perform the Rites of the Blessed by the time she turns twenty-one or she will become one of the Cursed. Cursed to lose the abilities Bastet gifted her, and eventually, her humanity.
As the owner of a prosperous shop in her large village, Falina is highly sought after as a wife. Finding her partner should be easy. Despite her tenacious vexation for her suitors, Falina's parents demand she find her other half and perform the Rites of the Blessed.
