"Knock, knock?" Reed breathed next to her ear. It's been around three hours, she's come accustomed to it by now.

Rolling her light green eyes. "Who's there?"

"Who would you like it to be?" It was so soft in her ear, the sweet smell of his cologne taking her back to the ocean, wind whipping her hair wildly. His voice was deep and held a flirtatious tone to it. Her throat tightened when she realised what he meant by his words. "You smell really nice," he murmured, but it sounded like it wasn't supposed to be heard by her, or for him to have said it out loud, leading Birdie to have a burning sensation running up her neck and pooling in her cheeks.

❝ i promise you 'right person wrong time' is a real thing. ❞

Birdie Wright, a twenty-four-year-old, blogger and aspiring reporter, is looking forward to becoming an intern at Chicago Fox News after receiving the phone call. But on the first day, she didn't expect to meet the man from the party, that her friend took her to as a congratulations, to be there, too.

Reed Cherie, a twenty-seven-year-old, jobless and laid back guy, he really didn't expect to have received the call back to be an intern at Chicago Fox News. Especially when his mum forced him to, saying he needs a good distraction. Even though he didn't feel ready to move on with his life, he still decided to please his mother and her wishes.

However, both of them weren't informed that only one of them would become the new news reporter. But, what happens when they find comfort in each other, just before everything crumbles between their fingers?

I feel the breath of air on the back of my neck. My limbs freeze and my breath catches in my throat. The male hands grab me by the hips. I can't move. His lips are by my ear, grazing the skin, his teeth tugging on my earlobe. His breath is hot on my skin, his lips moving down to my neck. My head tilts slightly. I shake my head. He doesn't have a weapon, I do. I turn in his grip, raising my bat. He catches the swing with one hand. He doesn't even flinch. "I wouldn't do that baby." His voice is like velvet, filling up the room. His lips are back on my neck, his tongue trails over the skin. The voice, the lips, are familiar. "You might mess up my pretty face." "Pretty face, my ass." I let the bat drop to the floor in-between the two of us. I should've known. "What are you doing here?" "Besides scaring you shitless?" "You didn't-" "Don't lie, I saw what you did to those poor hangers." *** It's a game of cat and dog. A game that's lasted four years. A game that expires in three short months. It's a battle of wits, of sarcasm, of teasing one liners, of sloppy kisses that may lead to more but nothing passed physical. It's a game with no rules. And they seem to be breaking them all. Thea Shaw and Ethan Michaels have a complicated relationship. One that neither wants to come to an end. But with college nearing and feelings developing what will come of their little game? He promises her one last summer of underage fun; parties, sunsets, long talks, sweet kisses, and no talk of college until it's time to leave. There are only two ways this summer can end. Either in each other's arms or the breaking of their hearts. #4 in New Adult [COMPLETED]

Ethan Thomas is a straight shooter who knows what he wants, and isn't afraid to show it. He's got his eyes set on the feisty blonde, and he's made it his mission to show her love isn't hopeless. From their first wild night together, both Ethan and McKenzie felt the intense and undeniable attraction between them. The closer these two get and the more vulnerable they become, they have to wonder if there's more to their encounters than steamy passion. One thing's for sure, and that's that sparks will fly and hearts will be mended. ~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\~\ "What is it you want, McKenzie?" He demands, his lips on my neck nibbling and kissing their way up to my earlobe. His hand trails down my skin until it finally reaches the lace material separating my pussy from his fingers. Still staring intently into my eyes, he slowly moves the lace material aside and dips into my hot and ready core. I bit down on my lip, attempting to suppress my moans. This only motivates him to push deeper. His fingers begin to move rhythmically inside of me, pushing me over the edge. "I want you!" I finally release, fully giving into him. I prefer to live through the romance stories I weave and post online. Hardly anyone reads my books, even if they're free, but I do have one fan, and he's supported me since I started writing two years ago. Except, my writing started to take a depressing dive when I realized that you simply couldn't prevent nor protect your heart from falling for someone. For him. For the one who had no interest in me. When I fell in love with him, I thought we had a chance. It was an accident. Turned out, I couldn't be more wrong. He doesn't want me, and I wasn't supposed to have him. It didn't matter if he showed up in the bookstore every day, talking to everyone else except me. Nor did it matter at all because he didn't know sign language. He couldn't learn. We couldn't communicate. But after I go on a date and it ends in putrid disaster, he makes his appearance known, and he's angry. Then he's doing things for me that confuse me. My stories are filling up with pages of content, dreams that I want to come true, and my mystery commenter encourages me to continue-to reach my happiness. To take what I want. But the activities planned start sparking familiarity-like I lived it before, or maybe dreamed it. Or maybe, just maybe, I'd written it before? My mind is spiraling, but I can't stop myself from getting closer and closer to him. I'm not supposed to have him, but my heart craves him. Sage Monroe, I'm in love with you, and I'm scared now because I have a feeling that you've been communicating with me in more ways than one.

In the aftermath of her twin sister's tragic death, Reagan Sinclair finds herself in a never-ending battle against paralyzing panic attacks and drowning in grief. Desperate to just survive each day, Reagan's world is turned upside down when Paris unexpectedly enters her life, offering her a chance to explore a world of dominance she never knew she needed. As Reagan delves into a journey of self-discovery and passion, she must confront her suppressed emotions surrounding her sister's passing and her growing dependence on Paris. Join Reagan on a gripping adventure of love, loss, and finding the strength to heal in the face of unimaginable pain. "Why not?" I whisper against his lips, I want him closer to my body, I want it so badly it's almost painful. The sensation spreads through me like a relentless throbbing, engulfing my entire body. Paris pulls away to look at me, and his eyes are darker, deeper. I swallow at the primal desire pouring from his stare, eyes widening when he wraps his hand around my neck, his thumb stroking as it bobs. Almost instinctively, I raise my hand and put it over his, making him squeeze tighter. Paris growls low in his throat, and I close my eyes, marveling at the way every single nerve ending lights up. "Why not?" I ask again, just wishing he'd close the space between us. Just wishing he'd touch me. "No. This is wrong and I'm sorry I let it get this far. I'm older than you, love. You're so fucking young. This is......no," "I'm twenty, not seventeen, and I don't care. It doesn't matter," it's the wrong thing to say because when I open my eyes, he's shaking his head, his eyes locked on the wall near my head with an unreadable expression on his face. He removes his hand from around my throat, and the other slides slowly up my side and grips my waist, putting me more firmly against the wall. "No, Reagan," he says through clenched teeth, turning around and going to his room. I flinch at the sound of his bedroom door closing.
