The only flaw to fate's plan was whether Lucille will survive the bite and accept the darker side of life. The bite wasn't the only she was going to have to survive. She was going to have to survive her mate and he was going to have to survive her. The thing was, was Lucille willing to be the person he wanted her to be? Was she willing to accept her new life and was she going to accept to be his second choice? And if not? Who will show Lucille that love exsists and you just need to find the right person to show you. I gripped the telephone as my knuckles turned white. "What do you mean?" "Come on Zoey I've seen you sneaking around acting like you're busy. You're hiding something and you won't tell me." All Zoey Campbell ever wanted to do was keep her head down and get through high school. Too bad it isn't that easy. Zoey is tired of everything and everyone. She is tired of being pushed around and tired of watching in the shadows. She is tired of pretending to like that girl that doesn't even know her name. Tired of pretending that she is ok when she isn't. She is constantly hoping for a better way out thinking she should just disappear. When the bully that owns her finds out that a dark secret is hidden in this lonely, poor girl's soul, she torments her day by night to get the answer she desperately wants to ruin her life. Day by day, year by year she hears people tell that lonely girl that if she doesn't commit suicide, they'll kill her. "She's right! She's right! I don't cut in the right spot." My hold tightens on my wrist. The red blood oozes out of my wrist. I slide up and grab my bag and run out of the bathroom. I don't care if people can see the blood I just want to get out. I race for the doors and shove through people. I earn a lot of glares and glances that read "weirdo." I ignore and push. I run to my house and lock myself in my bathroom. I don't bother closing the front door cause I don't care if people come in to kill me. I grab my razor and cut deep cuts into my arm and wrists falling into a pool of my own blood. • • • Evangeline has a great life. Friends? Check! Good grades? Check! Loving family? Check! But what if she has secrets that nobody knows of? What if the only thing she can trust is her secret diary? What if slowly but surly she's dying inside? How can an innocent twelve year old deal with these problems? Will she keep on facing these problem till the day she breaks. Our eyes slowly met as I felt that pull towards him... But how can I love a monster?
