In New Orleans, Its been 6 weeks since Klaus Mikealson, the most maniacal vampire in history sacrificed his life for his teenage daughter, Hope Andrea Marshall-Mikealson.
The ordeal with the vampire purists has left Hope an orphan and although the dark magic that threatened to take over Hope's life is long gone, why does she still feel like a ticking time bomb?
Back in Mystic Falls, Alaric Saltzman has alot to straighten out ahead of the school year as Caroline [last name] prepares a 9 month expedition to find answers to ridding their twin daughters Lizzie and Josie's Gemini Curse.
The twins, taking the news of their mother's month long absence surprisingly well, are in the mood for some discovery as well, self discovery. Will this be the summer of romance and new beginnings for the twins or will a family secret send them both spiraling?
Elsewhere, Atlanta, GA, to be exact a Vampire terf war is devastating the inner city. Many youth have fallen victim, catching the attention of supernatural intelligence group TRIAD and their Chief Operating Officer Veronica Greasly.
Denver, CO, at a safe haven for werewolves, Jed is as loyal to the pack as they come. Never knowing of his werewolf nature before the devastation of his turn, he was taken in by the Denver Woods pack. Their Alpha Denny Jr, has been a big brother to him over the year since his turn. Set after 3 x05, where the gang will have to adjust to new changes that is happening at the Salvatore school. The school is running low on students and they will have to find new recruits if they want to save the school from being shut down. Lizzie tries to get hope to move on when they stumble upon Ethan, a boy hope is still confused about for what her sub-conciseness was trying to tell her. She has these feelings for Ethan that she doesn't entirely understand, it's strong, intoxicating and it feels like it's consuming her. She has never felt this way before even when she was with Landon the feelings she felt for him weren't this strong. Hope is afraid of moving on as Landon is still a sore subject. Alaric tries to get Sherriff Mac back. MG and Lizzie relationship is complicated. Kaleb is being distant from Jed after finding out about him and Alyssa for MG is his Bro.
