Author's Note: This re-imagined story uses the same historical characters from the original Story of Yanxi Palace by Yu Zheng. I reuse the names from Yu Zheng's adaptation because it is so much easier to follow.
After extensive reading through historical facts about each characters, the years and events that took place during the QianLong reign, there are many differences from Yu Zheng's adaptation to note: 1)Wei Yingluo has two brothers and no sister 2)She became a Noble Lady in 1745, three years before the death of Empress Fuca Rongyin in 1748 3)Hailancha was born in 1740. He did not enter the Qing Empire until 1755 and was 20 years younger than Fuca Fuheng; therefore, they could not have been friends until much later.
This story is MY adaptation of the Yanxi Palace. I adore Yu Zheng's adaptation of QianLong and YingLuo's relationship...but this is my version of how they met and eventually fell in love during a time when Emperors were taught to be heartless, to pamper their concubines but must not love. Enjoy!
