A Second Chance

They can't stand each other.

Well, they used to be best friends since they were seven, but a lot can change when puberty hits. Before the start of their freshman year in high school, they slowly drifted apart and began to despise each other.

As they grew older, they thought it would be easy to stay away from each other since they attended a school with hundreds of students, but luck never seemed to be on either one of their sides.

Of course, Weston Ledger is the quarterback on their varsity football team. In this town, people don't take football lightly. With three championships under their belt, Fossil Creek's football team is determined to beat the record by winning four championships in a row. With Weston, they sure as hell are destined to win.

The only thing that could keep them from winning, is one specific distraction. And that one specific distraction would be a certain sarcastic brunette, Violet Gray. Violet is the assistant athletic trainer for Fossil Creek's football team, which puts these two in a very awkward situation.

On and off the field, they bicker nonstop. The whole team loves watching them argue with each other, especially when Violet hits a nerve. With Weston's bad boy demeanor and Violet's snarky remarks, these two are walking on thin ice around each other.

Is it finally time for Violet and Weston to talk about what really happened the summer before going into freshman year, or will they put it behind them and wait until they finally see the ice start to crack until it's too late?

Are they willing to give each other a second chance? Or are they going to watch each other fall through the ice until they both drown in their own sorrow?
