26-year old Jairo Cambridge, a criminal turned private detective is called upon by a seemingly desperate mother, Mariana Clifton to find her missing 22-year old son, Andrea Clifton. What Jairo doesn't know is the dark secrets Mariana is hiding about why her son is missing and what may have happened to him, she seems suspicious, emotionless, and even less so about her recently deceased husband. Jairo receives an odd phone call from someone who apparently has information about Andrea but they want to meet in person to discuss it. And they're not in Reno, Nevada where Andrea disappeared from. Who did this and what really happened to him? What was their reasoning and was Andrea's family involved in any way? What about Andrea's stepbrother, does he play any role? What will happen when Jairo discovers some clues the police seem to have missed involving Andrea's and Mariana's lawyer on Andrea's phone.

The Big Run-Off (Holden Burke #1)

21 parts Complete

**first runner-up at the 5th Ohana Awards (Mystery/Thriller)** "I've given a lot up, sure. We all give things up to different degrees." "How different?" "Depends. We're all different. We all have different things to give up." Holden Burke is a lot of things -- ex-football star, current private investigator, problem solver, and professional smart-ass. In The Big Run-Off, the seemingly simple case of a rich but morally bankrupt petrol tycoon and his wild runaway son gives way to a dark secret spanning forty years and a complex web of lies, blackmail, and murder.
