Every couple of years, an extremely rare medicine is created. It can cure any ailment thought incurable. It could also make the person who sells it rich beyond their wildest dreams. Archer has been hired to obtain the vial before anyone else has a chance to sell it.
The only problem is, everyone else also wants the vial.
But in a galaxy full of billions of lives. Only one can be saved.

Ezra thought his grades would get him posted to a place in the Navy that reflected his ability, something like First Fleet, the Raiding Nine, or even Home Guard. Humanity's enemy the Preshk where attacking more often and Ezra wanted to be contributing directly to the war effort. Instead he got put on a Scout ship with just one other soul and sent on a five month mission out into deep space. The mission quickly becomes more than the young commander could have ever expected and the fate of humanity lies in how fast he can return back to humanity. This short story is just over 18,000 words and contains sexual content between two men, so If that's not your cup of tea.. don't read :) This is my first attempt at something like this, so feedback is welcome, though be nice :)Complete
