This short story is about friendship. Picture two young girls thick as thieves but now strangers as one grows too fast for the other. Yes, the one left behind is lonely for a while, but it doesn't remain that way...as one chapter closes, another opens. 
It's something we can all relate to as people come and go in our lives. Even as friends become strangers, strangers become friends.
This story was inspired by a prompt I stumbled on from Reedsy.
