Everyone says that the amulet doesn't make mistakes so Jim was always meant to be the TrollHunter, it was his destiny. So why did it choose Tobias Domzalski at then end of the movie? The answer could be that it knows what Jim did and is simply working as part of his plan to 'make right'. With Toby as TrollHunter, Jim can direct him on what to do and who to face while he works to avoid the disasters he escaped from. In the end, will Jim succeed and will all be remembered?

A different hero - A Trollhunters AU
What if instead of Jim being chosen as the hunter it was in fact a young girl, Claire Nunez. And what if Jim wasn't in fact a human. This story is a planned rewrite of most of Trollhunters, Jim in this story is a changeling and will have his own perspective but overall Claire is going to be the main character. Naturally it will result to Claire x Jim and I'm not going to do slow burn but there relationship will naturally be more rocky in this one due to the more secretive nature going on between them

Decades later, a 15 year old human boy named Jim Lake Jr. finds the Daylight stone on the counter of his kitchen and he has no idea what it is. But Jim's life gets even crazier when he's told of a secret underground world of trolls under Arcadia. And that blue glowing stone he found on his counter is the Daylight Stone, the same stone that powers the Amulet of Daylight. It soon becomes a chase to Daylight. TROLLHUNTERS: CHASING DAYLIGHT It's a creature from that of a nightmare. And exactly what Eli said, stone for skin. Except this creature's stone for skin is much darker and I don't like how he's eyeing me like I'm a delicious entry. Maybe my knife skills can come to play? Oh, who am I kidding, I'm dead.
