This is a story/poem about a day I had back in 3rd grade in 1998. I am autistic, and had been diagnosed at this time but I had not been told and was not receiving any aid or care at all. This is to show awareness to both the struggles of those with autism and that not telling the child that they have autism can be just as bad if not worse than telling them why they have the differences they have.All Rights Reserved

All of me, the hard parts of flesh you could never seem to love, drips down the drain. I am waiting for the day for your fingers to unscrew the pipes, dig through debris and mess, scrape your heart against the rust, just to find me, so we can go through it all over again.
