Everything that they have been told was a lie. Their history, their lives, everything. Friends and family that were proclaimed dead are alive. They aren't the only ones left, one of the few true things was the horrors that the forest contains. The hunters, people from the other world, other villages.
Tragedy and war have struck the world through the portal, under the councils' rule. Decades have brought the council down the lowest they can go, willing to kill to rule over them all. Felix's parents were a lie, he's the missing piece to the council puzzle. He is the one that can change the fate of everyone, dead or alive. 
Magic is the one thing the council will do anything to get, once plentiful now scarce. The council has driven the magic casters away, they escaped to another world.

But many have tried and failed, do they really stand a chance? Alexander doesn't think so, but his main concern is finding his sister, Rosia.
