Lily is thrown into a life she use to read to bed. The one of fairytales about mystical creatures and the use of magic. However, her fantasies come to a halt as she is forced to live the terrors of such a world. Thrown into an academy for magic bares she must navigate her way through the ranks as she tries to find meaning in her position in the world she must come to terms with.
Along the way she encounters Matthias, a top student at the academy and an aristocrat amongst the magical lands. Will he be able to help her set a foundation in the foreign lands or will he serve to be another obstacle for her to manoeuvre around?
* This is a spin-off from "Under the Surface" a series I am also slowly working on, which hasn't been published.
*I am publishing this first as a gauge to practice writing, organise my thoughts on the scope of the world, and see which audience this may appeal most to.

He grabbed my arm at the last second and pulled me back, pressing my body tightly against his. "You like living on the edge, don't you?" A prestigious academy in one of the largest kingdoms that is Vandrosia. The academy has been known for centuries for educating many, nobles, princesses, princes and future monarchs, across Eryndor. The queen and king of Vandrosia had made the first step to equality between the lower class, middle class and the higher class, by deciding to allow selected commoners into the academy. Many commoners took the opportunity and applied, but out of the thousands that had applied only a couple hundred was selected for the academy. And one of them is our protagonist, Aster. But only a few weeks after the grand opening strange disappearances began to happen upon the commoners, Aster forms an unlikely group of people, would she be able to find out the source, or will it remain a mystery or worse? (First time making a story, also I am a 6th grader making this for fun, there would probably be a lot of plot holes, bad grammar, and also English isn't my first language so don't expect the story to be well constructed)
