A modern recast of the 1959 tragedy that unraveled at Welton Academy.
For Todd Anderson, the tail end of junior year at Welton Academy is trudging by like weary wheels. Since the departure of his beloved teacher, the expulsion of his friend, the disbandment of the Dead Poets Society--the catalyst of his joy--and...the death of a significant boy, a marrow of life seemed to be sucked out of Todd.
As summer approaches, Todd, like the other Welton boys, are gearing up for two months of enrichment activities which includes summer classes, rowing, community service, and God knows what else that will hopefully get him a leg up when he applies to the Ivy League. When he finds a book on Neil's bed, a note slips out of the book, inviting him to journey--and alter-- the past.

As Neil Perry's cousin from France arrives in Essex she would never have thought to ever find love again. After she has been cought with a boy in bed, he has been sent to a military school and she was suspended for six weeks and sent home. Now she's under the strict control of her uncle and aunt, who have taken her in since her parents left her and that don't tolerate this reckless behaviour anymore. But as she can't suppress her true self, she finds a way to sneak out to Welton Academy where she gets introduced to the Dead Poets Society, a group of boys, including her cousin, that want to make more of their lifes than just doctors and attorneys. Especially this one adventurous boy catches her attention and a dangerous romance begins to flourish. As they all try to follow their dreams, they risk not only their place at the school but also the chances of their future and the one of their supportive teacher Mr. Keating. So he caves and in the end learns that life can still be enjoyable even if it feels like everyone is against you. or a story in which a 17 year old boy who feels like his life is over, discovers that it can still turn out alright in the end, even if it feels like everyone is against him.
