In the kingdom of Gryndea, ruled by the monarchy who took over and are now calling themselves the Chivalrists, 5% of people have a special power known as a Gift. A Gift manifests itself as an item that imbues the person who holds it with its power. Ryke Ronssen is one of the lucky few who have a Gift. When his village is attacked and destroyed by the Chivalrists, Ryke finds himself among strange bedfellows; a group of four other rebels determined to take down the Chivalrists once and for all. But something is amiss. Each rebel is hiding something, and Ryke still doesn't know what happened to his brother, Damoa. Can he sort through the lie and truths before the mysterious figure in the mask reveals themself? Or will the King of Gryndea succeed in his plan to expand the kingdom into the Outer Lands?
