The world is full of pretenders, and Blair can't stand it. From the second she wakes up to the second her head hits the pillow, she is surrounded by them. Pretending that their lives aren't full of meaningless relationships and worthless things that weren't built to last. She prides herself on being different. That is, until she meets Maddox Stryker.

Having a complicated past with her best friend, Blair swears that she wants nothing to do with him. However, as circumstances keep pushing them together, she denies that her feelings are becoming more and more real.

It is then she realizes that she, too, is a pretender.
