Chain link, metal fences. Tons of almost non-stop barking. It was what the blue eyed dog saw and heard everyday for the past four months.
Once helping find bombs, ambush the enemy, and protecting her family who wore camouflage. The family that protected and fought for their country. It all changed one day.
After a devastating ambush from the enemy, her family was gone. Buried six feet under the ground when they were taken back home. With multiple life changing injuries and PTSD, the young dog can only dream of finding a forever home. The families of her...now old family did not want her. They allowed her to be taken to the shelter after she was healthy enough. No one wanted a broken dog. Mentally or physically.
But one day, two men come looking for a dog. The man with a metal arm and long dark hair stopped at her cage. That day her whole life changed for the better.
Everything has calmed down for the Avengers. Tony has forgiven Bucky, after much consideration and a few talks from Pepper that is. Natasha talked about finding a furry friend for Bucky. Maybe it would help with his PTSD, anxiety, and even possibly his nightmares.
The day that he found the blue eyed dog with three legs, was the day he gave a full smile to his friend, Steve, for the first time in a very long time.
But will Hyrda let them live peacefully?

Trauma
Bucky is determined to get himself a dog. And his boyfriend Steve agrees that a dog would really help his friend to overcome his anxiety attacks and his PTSD (not that Bucky would ever admit suffering from any mental disease). But the dog Bucky chooses to take in may not be suitable for him. They say that two damaged souls may heal each other but sometimes you need more than just a good friend to heal. Sometime friendship isn't enough after all. Sometimes you need a professional to help you. This story does contain some things that may trigger people. Am not gonna lie it is pretty sad and maybe disturbing. Animals die in this book. Don't ever get a traumatised dog if you are not experienced at all! It will neither make you, nor the dog happy. Rescuing dogs is definitely something that should be supported but not everyone is up for the challenge. None of these characters belong to me (well, yes, the dog does). *The story has been edited and revised* Bucky Barnes had finally ran away from HYDRA, but he was in hiding. He was too worried, and a bit scared, to go to his childhood friend, Steve Rogers, so he tried to hide from the blonde as well. Bucky had jumped from place to place for a while, running into HYDRA agents every few months. He was tired of running, and he hoped soon he'd be able to find a place to stay; a place to have somewhat of a home and to finally start remembering who he was and what happened in his life. After a year of being on the run, Bucky decided to hideout in a small town in Ireland. The town had a semi-small population, and the people seemed to mind their own business. He found himself a cheap apartment, number 101, and he was easily able to hide from the world while in the small living area. *************** In apartment 102, lived a woman by the name of Harlow Simpson. Harlow was a sweet girl who moved to Ireland years ago with her brother Wade. Wade had run away from home because he had accidentally had a daughter, Jodie, a few years back. Harlow had decided to move with her brother and his new born daughter, so she could help him take care of her. When Jodie was two, Wade decided to join an underground fight club, but only a year later, he was killed in a scuffle with a man twice his size over a bet. Harlow was given full custody of Jodie, and she and the small child moved to the apartment to get away from all of the sad memories of Wade. Three years later, Harlow and Jodie were surprised to see a man moving into the small apartment next to theirs. The apartment was very small, and from what Harlow seen, the man really didn't have much to move in. Each day, Harlow and Jodie would watch the man leave, only for him to come back with a small bag of fruit. Two of A Kind
In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Then there's Aite. She's new. She's the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and ruin. You'd think her and Loki would be the best of friends... Not so much.Complete

When the Avengers hit a Hydra base, to get back the scepter, they come across a room, where someone is bound, from the ceiling. Rescuing the fraile figure, they return to the jet victorious, only to find their rescue, is none other than Ana. She was barely conscious, and from clear signs, she was not there willingly. Taking her back to the tower, they try to help her, only to find that she has no memory of them, and now holding her own power. Thor wants nothing more than to destroy every single person who had hurt her, his need to protect her burning within him. The only comfort she finds is in his brother and the metal armed soldier, needing them both to protect her. ***** Being in a new place, surrounded by so many people, she felt overwhelmed, terrified that they would hurt her like the others. She feels her wrists are now free, and that power within her, was now accessible again. Bucky's Hope (A Bucky Barnes Love Story)
Still being tormented and haunted by the memories of when he was the Winter Soldier. Bucky has tried so many things to help him deal with the trauma of his past but nothing has helped. The Avengers can see how bad the nightmares are affecting Bucky and are really worried about him. Tony has since forgiven Bucky for what happened to his parents all those years ago but can see that he has not forgiven himself. He decides to bring in some outside help though is unsure how the team will react to the secret that he has hidden for 21 years, he knows that she is Bucky's best chance to forgive and heal himself. Her life has never been simple, especially when being the daughter of Tony Stark, but she has dedicated her life to helping horses and people alike heal from past trauma. And now her dad has asked her to help Bucky with his inner demons. But can she help Bucky while still battling her inner demons or perhaps heal each other bringing hope back into their lives? (Author's Note: This story takes place two years after Civil War but with my twist, I debated about adding the Infinity/Endgame storyline but decided not to because I'm still not over all that emotional trauma that the Russo brothers and Marvel put me through. So I decided to bring the concept of one of my favorite Canadian shows Heartland based on my favorite book series growing up. The rescues in my story are either some from the show/books but with my spin as well as some real-life horse rescue cases that I have seen online. Hope you all enjoy it, no pun intended.)
