Emilio Mario III, reincarnated as EJ in the present day, is about to confront a horrifying legacy. In a previous life, Mario was a writer who documented the sinister tales of the Seven Deadly Sins. Realizing the malevolent power of his works, Mario destroyed his books, believing he had sealed the Sins away forever. Centuries later, the books have mysteriously reappeared, and the Sins, recognizing EJ as Mario's reincarnation, seek vengeance.

The Sins, now hunting EJ, torment him with his darkest fears and exploit his deepest weaknesses. They have a sinister purpose: each time they kill, they drag the souls of their victims into a hellish realm. Anyone who touches the bodies of the victims becomes marked, cursed to be hunted by the Sins as well. EJ learns that the only way to end the torment and banish the Sins is to find and collect the reformed books, bringing them together to destroy them by fire.
