Series of Seasons #1

Amari Buenavista made a promise to herself: no matter how fiercely the waves battered her body, she would rise-feet planted firmly on her surfboard, heart wide open to embrace life in all its chaos and clarity.

When the person she trusted most betrayed her, she chose the harder path-forgiveness. It took her years, perhaps lifetimes in the shape of seasons, to finally understand her worth.

But now that she values herself, truly and deeply, why does every summer feel so hollow-sunlit yet empty, like a song missing its chorus?

Is this what peace is supposed to feel like? Just stillness? Just calm? No crashing tides to test her, no storms to survive?

She wonders: Can silence be mistaken for serenity? Can a life without struggle still shape a soul into something braver, stronger?

They were inseparable once, two halves of the same tide, until life pulled her inland and left him to weather the storm alone. Years later, she's back on the island that made her. The same beaches, the same salt in the air - but the boy she left behind isn't the same. He's older now. Harder. A little more broken. Rebuilding what they had isn't easy. The Pogues have scars she doesn't understand, and John B's walls are higher than ever. But every glance feels like a memory, and every moment threatens to pull them under again. Because some things don't fade with distance - they wait, patient as the tide, for you to come home. "I think you'd be good to me, and I'd be so good to you." It was the summer before her first year of college. The summer was an expansion of adventure waiting to happen. Cassie always swore that she was too broken to ever be loved after the emotional rollercoaster that life had taken her on. Despite her troubled past with her ex, Billy Hargrove, she finds herself falling for the rough edged metal head with a soft heart. As Cassie struggles to heal from her past with Billy, Eddie teaches her it's okay to allow someone in through the walls she has built around her. But when Billy tries to maliciously intervene in her new relationship, will she be able to withstand the pressure or crumble under Billy's clutch? Before you read: Thank you for reading! I am a former fan fic writer from the 2010s coming out of retirement solely for Eddie. This story occurs in modern day with some undertones of 80's pop culture. Some details in the story may differ from details in the show. I am aware that some things may not be accurate to the show and that is on purpose. All main characters are 18 or older. There is no Vecna (sorry Jamie) and no Upsidedown. Updates will be on Sundays and Thursdays. I hope you enjoy.
