The Child of the prophecy, was the child who would either save the world or ruin it. When Minato Namikaze sealed the Kyubi, he was informed of a prophecy. A prophecy that was misunderstood. This caused him and everyone around to favor the 2 daughters of the hokage. Always neglecting the eldest son, the one with the Kyubi's soul. Having enough of his treatment, Naruto trains, acts,  all so he could make it back to the beautiful women he once saw in his dream.
