Running From the Alpha

"Stay away from me, y-you monster." Tears prickled my eyes as I stared back at him. The unnatural glow that shone in his blue eyes terrified me to my core.

"Karina, baby, it's still me." His voice was strained and the words came out as a begging plea, but I no longer wanted anything to do with him.

Every step that I took back, only caused him to step closer, as if an invisible string was pulling him to me. I did the only thing that I knew how to do, I ran.

I was running from the Alpha, and I only prayed that he would never catch me.

Karina was back in her hometown for the summer, the last summer before she would begin her final year of college, thus the final step in starting her adult life.
