With the night breeze flowing and the sea waves splashing against our feets, I take a pause before answering their question.
"You wouldn't believe me if I said this but, before my whole confidence thing I wasn't as outgoing as this, I wasn't as happy as this, I would hide in the back of the class, ignoring everyone, just me being me but I used to look at people and observe them." I pause for a sip of the coke as I then continue my explanation
"I would look at their happy smiles and just wonder... I would just wonder 'I wish their story was mine, why do they get to be happy while I'm sitting in the background as an extra of my life... of my OWN life.. Why are they like this while I'm like this' but after a while when we had our school breaks I had a change of mind"
"What caused you to change your mind?" *** asks looking at me with questioning eyes
Smiling at them, I push my hands towards theirs so we're holding hands, and take a deep breath before I answer.
